Joe Widdis

Born and raised in the rugged wilderness of the Yukon, Joe Widdis developed a lifelong connection to the land and a deep respect for nature. Growing up in this remote and breathtaking environment shaped both his career and his passion for the outdoors.

As a CFSC/PAL instructor, live fire training coach, and range safety officer, Joe is dedicated to promoting responsible firearms handling and safety. His business provides expert firearms and wilderness safety instruction, helping others gain confidence and competence in the field. He also works as a wildlife technician and monitor, contributing to conservation and safety operations across the North.

With a strong background as a first aid instructor, including advanced wilderness first aid, Joe’s teaching emphasizes preparedness, practical skills, and calm decision-making under pressure. He also delivers practical boating courses for inland waterways, equipping participants with essential navigation and safety skills.

Joe collaborates with other outdoor training organizations to deliver specialized programs in firearms, wilderness survival, and emergency response. His approach blends hands-on instruction, mental resilience, and respect for the natural environment.

When he’s not teaching, Joe can be found fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, or quadding—embracing the northern lifestyle that continues to inspire him. His diverse expertise in construction, emergency response, firearms training, and wilderness operations has earned him respect across his community. Joe’s work reflects his unwavering commitment to safety, self-reliance, and the preservation of the Yukon’s wild beauty.
